We are sorry to inform our recycling public that as of Saturday, August 10, 2019 The Unity Area Regional Recycling Center can no longer accept glass for recycling.
This is due to the ongoing constraints the recycling industry is currently experiencing. We have been searching and continue to search for an alternate market for glass, as well as the plastics that we lost last year. We hope to find a resolution to these matters soon, however, cannot offer a timeline for these resolutions.
So, it is with a heavy heart that, for the time being, we must cease in the acceptance of glass at our facility. We deeply apologize for this and the inconveniences it causes. We strive and endeavor to get the most out of what this facility has to offer and going forward hope to be able to bring these items back.
As always, we thank each and every one that chooses to recycle and use this facility.
