Open House and Fundraiser at the Barn Window Antique Shop, Sat., August 30th
“The Barn Window”, a new antique shop located in Troy will hold an open house on Saturday, August 30 from 1 to 4 pm. During the open house, a percentage of all profits will benefit Waterfall Arts and the Troy Union Church steeple project. Light refreshments will be served.
Owner Sue Kischitz is a member of Waterfall Arts’ Board of Directors. She describes the shop as a destination for antique hunters, collectors and the curious and is holding the open house fundraiser to support the arts and to help her neighbors rebuild the steeple at the church in town.
Displayed inside the large, old 2-story barn are tools, signs, art, furniture and many vintage and useful things. There’s an old school room with toys and a driver’s ed. car that children can play in, farm tools, wagon wheels, rockers, stools, cupboards, glassware, windows and lamps are for sale. A museum area has natural curiosities to examine and two swings hang in the center aisle ready to be used.

“The Barn Window” is located at 1077 Bangor Road in Troy. Hours are: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Sat. 10-5, closed on Wednesday and Sunday. Other times can be arranged by calling Sue Kischitz at 948-5569.
