Progress on Restoration of Troy Union Church (Troy Union Meeting House 1840)

Two years ago, members of the Troy Union Church didn’t know what would be needed to “fix” our leaning belfry. We didn’t understand what we had or what we wanted.

Finding that the Maine Steeples Project, a partnership between Maine Preservation and Maine Community Foundation, would offer funding for an assessment of the condition of the building was the beginning. Norma Rossel submitted an application to the Maine Steeples Project for an Assessment Grant. We received $2,250 (90%) to pay for the Assessment, which was performed August 28, 2010 by Arron Sturgis, Preservation Timber Framing, Inc., Berwick, Maine.
