First and foremost you need to know Troy, especially its people but also its geography, and its history. You need to be able to keep the Selectmen on track, no easy task. You need to be empathetic, sympathetic, and sometimes you have to put your foot down. You always need to be wise beyond your years and wily as a coyote. You need to be able to remember the names of our 1030 citizens, and minuscule impossible details of the law that anyone in their right mind would have forgotten but you don’t because somebody needs to know. You have to show up and do the work every day for not that much pay because you love this town.
